Also just seen Les Miserables at the Stanley and it is excellent. Have three more plays coming up this week and will report back through reviewfromthehouse.com

A treat for Mothers' Day - Sunday May 10th

Calling all Kings Landing moms, or sons or daughters of moms (ok that's everyone, right?).

A really great experience for moms and daughters ( and their husbands and dads) to share on Mothers' Day is the performance of My Mother's Story- to be held this year at the Granville Island Main Stage from 4 to 6 pm. Twenty actors tell the story of their mother's life in a fast paced 90 minute show. There are happy episodes, tragic events, and you will laugh and maybe shed a tear or two.

Check out my full write up at My Mother's Story 2009. Tickets are $23.00 for reserved seats. Details on the above link or at reviewfromthehouse.com

I saw it two years ago and loved it then as you can read in My Mother's Story: A Mother's Perspective. Go and see it and let me know what you think about it.

Fun and a good cause- May 2nd party

Here is a message from Brad Marchant, and his band Backbeat:

The next fundraiser my band is doing is on May 2, 8pm at the Rowing Club in Stanley Park. We do 2 of these every year and they have always been a good party. Two bands, 350 people and lots of dancing to rock and roll classics.

There are only 30 tickets left.

The pictures show BackBeat in action. Also with us on May 2nd is Fabulous George and the Zodiacs – a great dance band from Winnipeg.

The charity is the Kelty Dennehy Foundation – who are active in teenage issues in Vancouver.

Hope to see you there. If anyone wants tickets I can be reached at bmarchant@bioteq.ca, 604 ... or at the Canucks games in the theatre !!!

Hope to see you there

Note from Gill:

I went to their party at the rowing club last year and had a blast.

Hot Lucy is Back at The Yale

Hot Lucy plays at the Yale Hotel on Tuesday April 28th, approximate time 8:00 PM 40 minute set.

Terry reports also that:

"Hot Lucy has been asked to be the special guest on May 2nd at the Saturday afternoon jam. This will consist of 4 songs. We will have a special guest playing with us on piano and Hammond organ. A childhood friend of mine that I played in bands with from age 12 to 18.

Hope you can attend one or both. The Yale hotel is watching us to see how many people come to hear us. They are looking at booking us for a 3 set evening in the upcoming months. Your support is greatly appreciated. Hope to see you all there."
