It's going up fast - or slow depending on your perspective

Walking by the site of the new building you might think it's going up fairly quickly. But if you are waiting to move into the new tower, or weary of the dust that settles onto every surface in the vicinity, you might find that construction is proceeding at a snail's pace.

I find it fascinating to be able to look through the skeleton of a growing highrise and imagine the many interesting people that will come to live within these walls, each with a unique life story.

Will they form a social community as we have here, I wonder? What do you think?

Our First DWTS Poll results and Tonight in KL Theatre 7:15

Well our poll results are a sort of reminder about the fragility of life. Here are the results for who we thought would be in the last 5
Toni
Susan
Cody
Brooke
and Lance/Warren/Misty-May tied with 2 votes each

After last night we know Misty is out of the contest - its so sadly ironic that the one to be injured like that is an athlete and presumably one of the fittest of the bunch. That achilles tendon injury is awful and seems so unpredictable. Watching that awful footage- why do they always plays that sort of thing over and over- she did not even seem to place her foot wrongly. The thing just snapped. Anyway I wish her a quick and complete recovery. Injuries are so depressing as well as the physical aspects.

Remember to give me your secret ballots with your winner predictions tonight - this is the last chance!

Updates on the Cyclopaths, DWTS and Pay Per View Hockey

Our trepid cyclopath leaders are occupied elsewhere tomorrow but they encourage the regulars to meet at the corner as usual and exercise their cycling muscles.

Linda and Brian also want to advise that there has been a great response to the PPV Hockey. We are oversubscribed so latecomers should bring pillows for stair sitting just in case. There is a surplus of 100 dollars that will be transferred to the barbecue fund for next year.

A reminder that the DWTS group will meet this Tuesday at 7:15 . Bring your ballot if you have not already handed it in. And remember to vote on line in our other DWTS poll

For KL Dance fans

Last night the DWTS fans saw reality show celebrity Kim Kardashian eliminated. KL dance fans can participate in our predictive poll for the finale by completing our ballot that ask you to predict the final three celebrities who will be in the finale and pick who you predict will win. This ballot must be returned to me (you can leave it with Michael) before the next elimination show on Tuesday October 7.

In the meantime lets see how good KL group judgement is. On the right you will see a poll asking who will last till the last 5. You can pick up to 5 answers. This poll closes by 8 pm on Monday October 6.

Excitement at KL

As the Movie Mavens watched the Canadian film, A Perfect Pie, Judith Thompson's play adapted by her for the screen, Linda and visiting daughter, Natalie clutched their cell phones, waiting for The Call. Today we can officially congratulate the new granny and aunt on the arrival of baby, Ruby.

Hockey fans and others alike were also excited to note the appointment of the new Captain for the Vancouver Canucks, Roberto Luongo. This will add an extra touch of proprietary excitement to the KL game viewing. Way to Go!
